Created this custom piece yesterday on a good friend and talented artist @therealdoubleojoe , here at @artifactstattoos Studio.
The design spells “eye “ , while also reading a literal 👁️ layered behind it — a subtle play on form and meaning.

This one means a lot to me. Joe’s been following my work since my Blick Art Materials days, long before the beginning of my art career. He’s seen the entire journey unfold, so getting to finally tattoo him felt like a true full-circle moment.

Huge thank you to Joe for trusting me and allowing me to showcase the black-and-gray and lettering work I’ve been wanting to lean into more. Continuing to create pieces along these lines is a big focus for me moving forward.

Growing up, I really looked up to bbhim, so having him trust me with this piece meant a lot during that stage of my tattoo journey. Not the easiest tattoo placement but always rewarding seeing it get done right !!

I first made a quick trip out here in 2022 just to introduce myself and get a feel for the area. Over time, I’ve been invited back to work, learned more about island-style tattooing, and stayed connected with the people here. It’s been a steady part of my routine ever since, and I’m grateful I get to come back and create whenever.

Yesterday I got to tattoo my coworker @sunkissd_sarah over at @banyantreetattoo in Maui and honor her dog, PAX — her girl of 16 years who recently passed. We went with a custom calligraphy script that felt soft, personal, and perfect for a memorial piece. Rest in peace, PAX. 🤍🐾

Thank you, Sarah, for trusting me with something so meaningful. These are the pieces that stay with you — the ones you feel while you’re lettering them.

Always grateful when I can leave a bit of my style behind on these trips. I don’t always get to do my lettering out here, so this one meant a lot especially being a dog lover ! 🙏 🕊️

Tattooed this “Carpe Diem” piece at @artifactstattoos Tattoo Studio for a client visiting from Oahu, Hawaii. We originally talked about doing a custom calligraphy style, but ended up going with a clean custom script that flowed better with his thigh. I really enjoyed building out the details and making the lettering sit just right.

It was a solid session — always good connecting with people from the islands, especially when you realize you have mutual friends . Hawai‘i always shows love.
